We had a great time at Panoply 2005! Many thanks to the ~70,000 people who came out to enjoy the sights and sounds of the festival, and more importantly – to support the arts and the community!

Plans are underway now for Panoply 2006 – our 25th Anniversary, April 28-30! The Festival Chairmen, Rena Anderson and Niki Evans, and the Panoply Staff have been busy brainstorming new ideas and preparing to kick off the Panoply season. So stay tuned for more information to learn more about the new events we have planned for you!

Everyone knows that the biggest part of Panoply is definitely the VOLUNTEERS. Rena and Niki are currently searching for volunteers to fill several committee chairmen positions. If you would like to be a part of the Panoply 2006 team, please contact The Arts Council today at 256-519-2787.

Panoply traditionally takes place in downtown Huntsville’s Big Spring Park, the last full weekend of April each year. Join us for the 2006 festival, April 28-30, as we bring the arts to life through a wide array of activities, events, and performances. You won’t want to miss out on this Huntsville tradition!

Panoply showcases the best in local and touring performances. Five stages, located throughout the park, are scheduled with performances from jazz bands, bluegrass, gospel and more. The Publix Kids’ Stage presents the best in children’s entertainment. You’ll see puppet performances, educational groups that teach different musical styles, as well as our local theatre groups delighting all audience members.

The Boeing Art Marketplace is another huge attraction. Artists from all over the country enter this juried art show, in hopes of winning the Best of Show or an Award of Distinction. Artists range from painters and primitive artists to jewelers and photographers. The Art Marketplace also features the Arts Demo Village, where artists may demonstrate their craft.

Your children will want to visit the Kids’ Art Yard, where there are several committees designed to help them express their creative side! Children can fashion their own bracelet or keychain in Bead It! and they won’t want to miss a Panoply favorite – Face Painting, where they can choose among several designs. All children’s activities are free!

Panoply Arts Festival is a production of The Arts Council, Inc. In addition to Panoply, The Arts Council’s other programs include Arts in Education, Arts Services, Community Information Services, and Concerts in the Park.
